Leaving your 9-5 and heading out on your own Bold Route opens doors to newfound freedoms, and it’s undeniably exciting. However, I feel it is important for me to be upfront and honest with you about the complete picture. 

Whatever plans you have for your new income, expect the journey to unfold with its share of imperfections. It is important to set yourself up with a mindset of resilience.  In this article, I will dive deeper in the financial realities of starting out on your Bold Route.

Luxuries will most likely take a backseat for a while. Friends might be dining out, shopping, and vacationing, but your budget will most likely need to tighten.

Ask yourself: Is this really what I want? 

Immediate freedoms will come, but financial freedom takes time. Will you be able to live on less, endure sacrifices and persevere? 

Beyond the steady paycheck, financial challenges can overwhelm the unprepared, leaving some to consider returning to employment for the reassurance of a stable income. How do I know? Well, I’ve been there.

When I began searching for work from home income ideas, I came across a course for selling on Amazon advertised as “passive income-no longer trading time for money.”  I went all in, mentally preparing to put in a few hours a day for the next year to help my family financially level up.

Now a year into this journey, I’m reflecting about the advice I wish I could give myself at the beginning of this venture. 

Since I can’t do that, I want to share my insights with you.

Whether you’re diving into Amazon or another ecommerce business, don’t fall into the allure of instant “passive” income. That is not a reality.   It gradually builds over time into becoming income and being more “passive.”

There will be many hurdles that you had not anticipated and it will most likely take longer than what you expect to see any profit.  When you do, reinvesting in your business is key in the initial stages

This is a marathon, not a sprint.

This is not for the faint of heart.
